How To Prep For Your Shoot
Welcome to your photoshoot.
The first thing I like people to think about, after choosing a date, is what will you do with your prints? Will they be hung in the living room, family room, hallway, or bedroom? Will they sit on a mantle, table or in an office? Will you want an album, canvas, or framed picture? This information is important in deciding what images are captured on the specific day.
The next thing to think about is where you would like your photos captured. Do you have a special place(s)? Are there multiple options you want to utilize, such as the country and the beach? Is water important? Do you like a lot of grass, flowers, and trees? Are you more of an Urban person and would prefer more buildings and structures? We can discuss your location desires and decide if it will lend to amazing photos. We can come up with options together if you are unsure.
Once we have an idea of where you want your photos captured we can discuss wardrobe options. It is very helpful to have multiple options. Formal, timeless photos are very classy and make us feel beautiful. Layering items can help with an easy change of look.
The day of your shoot: Please arrive on time so we can utilize the “golden hour” as much as possible as it provides the best light for photos. You should arrive camera ready. If you are unsure of the location please take a drive by before the shoot or allow extra time for finding it. I will arrive a bit early to set up, as needed. We will spend the allotted time together taking multiple images in various spots throughout our location. I will instruct you as to poses to try. I may guide you into a pose if you are comfortable.
Please note I work very hard to pay attention to many details during our time together. This process can sometimes take time. Because I do not use a point and shoot camera it is important to get the settings correct. When we move about within the location I will need to make adjustments to my camera due to light changes. This will ensure the best images. I may also change lenses throughout the shoot depending on what we are attempting to capture. I ask that you be patient with these processes.
I look forward to working together. Please don’t hesitate to ask any question. Nothing is off limits when it comes to your photo shoot.
Remember to Smile and have fun!
